Siri Renier

Siri Renier worked as an intelligence analyst in the U.S. Government for 25 years, focusing on complex, enduring national security problems. From 2021-2025, she served at the National Intelligence Council in the Strategic Futures Group, where she led strategic intelligence analysis on the national security implications of ongoing and projected changes in the environment, including climate change.  As chair of the Climate Security Advisory Council from 2024-25, she led representatives from U.S. Intelligence agencies and Federal Science agencies as the council worked to better integrate Federal Science into intelligence analysis and build all agencies' capacity to anticipate national security risks of climate and environmental change.  As the lead sponsoring official for the National Academies Climate Security Roundtable, she increased the intelligence community's access to scientists and academics with a broad range of expertise in earth and human systems, such as energy, agriculture and urban systems.  Throughout her career, she has enjoyed taking on complex projects, pinpointing the key problems, and working with teams to build novel solutions.
